More Letter S~

Soo we have been working on the letter S this past week...
and at Hobby Lobby they had soap making kits
that came with all the stuff needed to make SOAP!
Well the kids loved it!! (and It was super easy, which I loved!)

Here is what we used...
2 fragrances for the soap: Coconut and Fresh Rain (only 1 came in kit)
Two soap molds that both came in kit
Soap coloring dye
Soap in clear and white (we used white this time)
Needed a spoon and measuring cup or bowl
It was really super easy and not messy at all,
my children needed hardly any help making these
cute and smelly good soaps!

Hayden pouring his soap into the frog and turtle mold
'Lyza Jane stirring her soap to make PINK soap of course!
Making soap is fun!
She poured the soap all by herself...thats impressive!
After sitting in the fridge for an hour...

'Walll-Laa' we have soap!!

Haydens Coconut turtles and frogs~

Lyza Janes Pink fresh rain smelling soap

We did a little lesson on SAFETY for the letter S
and I taught the kids how to dial 911
and taught them when are actual emergency situtations
and when are not...

We made Smiley face cookies...YUMMY!
MMmmmmmmm

Haydens letter 'S' snowman sheet
For breakfast one morning we made SNOWMAN pancakes~
Haydens favorite breakfast item is pancakes,
so I always try to think of ways to make different
pancakes using our lessons~

We stretched out of Letter 'S' a little longer than a week
but we learned alot from the letter S and the kids enjoyed
all our activities and lessons which made it fun.
We had some yummy letter 'S' dinners as well- to include:
Sloppy Joes
Spaghetti
Spinach Chicken Alfredo
Soup and Sandwiches
It also SNOWED for the first time at the end of our letter S
learning week which was cool for the kids to play in!
(Worked well with our lesson too!) ;-)
Hope everyone is staying warm
in this CHILLLY weather!

~Theres No Place Like Home~

My mom invited me to go with her to the
Wizard of Oz on Broadway Show at TPAC last night...
it was a fan-tabulous evening and the show was very delightful as well!
Plus...I had a night of adult conversation with my mom
without my screaming kids vying for MY attention all night!
Wow~ that in itself made the evening MAGICAL...ha ha JK!
Here is a pic of us infront of the ARTS Appetizer Pre-show table~
I didnt take many pics of the show since
it was not allowed, but I had to get a few to
at least monument the occasion~
The Lion was my favorite...he was a REALLY good actor!
And hilarious!
Nobody sees the WIZARD...not no body, not no how!
Posing infront of the stage...
I thought we had pretty good seats myself!

~Reading Dr. Seuss with 'Rannie~

Dr. Seuss brings back happy childhood
memories for me...
Today my mom, otherwise known as
Grandma- 'Rannie to the kiddos,
brought over two brand new book gifts for the kids.
She even read them both to them before she left which
of course to me was a KODAK moment in itself and I dashed for my camera!
I had a huge collection of Dr. Seuss books as a child,
which my mother still has locked away for the special day
she decides I'm ready to have them...ha ha
Anyways, it was a nice touch to start her grandchildren off
with their own collection of Dr. Seuss books today
as well...may the 'Seuss' live on forever!
'Rannie is a good storyteller and gets into the characters~
My two babies are sooo cute when they're
not fighting~ but sharing
happy moments together!

~Christmas with Heather & Meara~

We celebrated Christmas with my bestest friend Heather,

and her daughter Meara - (Hayden and 'Lyza's friend) today!

I love how we are spreading out the good cheer and

holiday spirit out for weeks not just celebrating all in one day!

They say the Christmas spirit should be spread throughout the

whole year anyways, so I guess we are trying to make that happen!! ;-)

Hayden got a WAY cool CARS beanbag from Heather and Meara~

'Lyza Jane got a neat Book & CD set with puzzle box too

Hayden and 'Lyza Jane got Meara a
