~ Learning about the letter 'D' ~

Our letter of the week is "D"
We made a trip to go feed the Ducks this week~
because the word Duck begins with the letter D of course!
Now before everyone gets all politically correct on me,
I know that most of these pictured are geese but there are
white ducks that we're feeding too!!
hee hee

My fav pic of them watching the ducks~

Chasing the ducks away~

Here Ducky -Ducky- Ducky!!

'Lyza Jane is helping me make the letter 'D' pancakes this morning~

Eating a banana while mommy frys the pancakes up~
One set of Letter 'D' pancakes we made~
Hayden was doing well writing the capital letter 'D' in my opinion~

Coloring their 'Dragon' land pictures
Dragon begins with the letter 'D'

DIGGERS ARE WAY COOL!!!
One of Hayden's favorite things (Hence our Blog title)
He asked if could have one of these actually...
Ha ha

Hayden I dont think they will fit in our backyard sweetie~

A boy and the Digger

Craft Time: Making Dinosaurs!
'Lyza Janes is a (unique not even discovered yet) Dinosaur~
hee hee

Hayden was going for the more 'Stego' Dino look~

Soo this is The Alphabet Chart mommy made
that we use to help us learn the letters~

It is also a game that we match the alphabet cards
to the correct matching letter~

He had a picnic one day on the deck with Dinosaur cutout sandwiches~ well the cutout I bought said they were dinosaur sandwich makers!

'Dinosaur' Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches are GOOD!
This is a RARE special occassion, I hardly ever let them have rootbeer!
The 'MUG' is sacred for Mommy & Daddy! ha ha

One of the books we read about Dinosaurs below, it was actually a cute book about dinos with some true facts included~

The Dog puppets we made~
'Lyza Janes is a Pink Poodle!!
(which is what she is dressing up as for Halloween actually)

Hayden made a Dalmation, which is what he is going to be for Halloween!

The Poodle and the Dalmation~

We had a fun week learning about the letter "D"!

Can you tell?

We had doughnuts for breakfast one day and made our signature letter 'D' pancakes another morning for breakfast...YUM!

We even ate DOG food for breakfast one day~

ha ha ha I'M TOTALLY KIDDING!!!!!

But seriously, we had fun on our 'Diggers' field trip
watching all the diggers moving dirt around was fun! Hey and the trip was totally free entertainment for the kiddos
yet they were learning something as well! I love those kind of field trips!

They had fun making the 'Dog' puppets and putting on puppet shows
in the living room for each other. (mostly Hayden puts on the show and
'Lyza Jane & me like to watch, but sometimes I participate when Hayden the stage director lets me! ha ha)

We are going to be learning about the letter 'C' next week and I'm excited since there are many great foods that begin with the letter 'C'~
sooo at least we should eat good while learning
about the letter next week!

~ Annual Appleton Motorcycle Toy Run~

Snacking on chips before the motorcycle parade began
Still waiting for the parade to begin...
but found some mulch to play in with the Thomas Trains! ;-)

Of course my camera wanted to mess with me again and delete some of my pics that I took which included SANTA on his Harley but here is some of the action~
Watching the bikes go by...wonder what they are thinking?
Bye Bye Bikes...this is after they go past us~

The motorcycles are coming!!

I drove the kiddos to Riverside Dr. this afternoon just in time to get a good parking spot for the Toy Run Parade!
(Boy people were lining up parking an hour before the parade
off Riverside Drive to get the best spots!)
We got there 40 mins before showtime which started at 1:10pm
and the kids snacked on chips & MUG rootbeer that we bought at the SubMarina shop we walked to located behind us.
They also kept themselves occupied by playing in the mulch with Haydens~ Thomas the trains he likes to carry everywhere we go!
'Lyza Jane also enjoyed singing and dancing next to the car to entertain me mostly but herself as well. hee
Finally the motorcycle parade (as I call it) began and the kids enjoyed seeing Santa Claus riding down the street on his motorcycle leading the way for the gazillion other motorcycles that would come to follow!
We waved and waved at all the neat and some very colorful bikes!
'Lyza Jane wasnt into the loud ones reving their engines as they passed by but Hayden was totally DIGGING those ones of course!
After watching 30 mins worth of motorcycles going by us the kids got tired of waving and soo we started packing up & buckling
our seatbelts for the ride home.
We left right before the motorcycle parade ended but we got our 30 mins of Harley fun in one big dose nonetheless!
Can't wait till next year to do it all again~

~My Chica Norma came to visit~

Norma and her daughter Olivia (Haydens friend & Penpal)

Hayden, Olivia and Elyza Jane
Yummy Cupcakes!!
Ooohhh Yeah!!
"I wonder if anyone will notice if I just take this little bit of icing right here..."
Pink & Blue Mouths! Ya know its good when your wearing it!

Happy DAY!
My good friend Norma that moved to Colorado came to visit with her daughter this weekend! We were gonna take the kids to Jump Zone but long story short the owner was being ridiculous about bringing cupcakes inside unless we booked a party room and we couldnt even bring a present inside either!!

Sooo note to self:
Don't bring anything to JumpZone!
EVEN if your not throwing a party!!! Geez!
So we decided to say 'HASTA LA VISTA' to Jumpy Place and went to
Micky D's instead!
I provided enough sugar for everyone and we celebrated birthdays early by exchanging gifts among the children.
Our visit went by fast and I already miss my friend Norma & her daughter 'Oli'
that had to leave to go back home to Colorado so soon!
We have had some fun times with our kids together and I miss them!
Sniff Sniff ;-(

~Hayden's 1st Disney on Ice Show~

Hayden and his friend Meara (aka my friend Heathers Daughter)
Lightning McQueen Repppresentin' !!
This is Haydens Hat he got at the show I'm sporting~

Soo fun times in NashVegas at the Disney Ice Show!
It was a collaboration of several Disney favorites...
Little Mermaid, The Lion King, CARS and the new Tinkerbell movie that comes out next month for the finale which I wish I could have gotten pics of but my camera BUSTED!
( I need a new camera!!!)
Anywho, the show had some great moments and overall I think Hayden was thrilled to see all the characters especially the CARS!
We got the chance to take 'My-Hope' (grandma) with us and it was her 1st Ice Show as well which was cool!
We had some FRONT row seating really close to the ICE so it was perfect!
I'd like to thank my friend Heather for the pics she took above and another friend who also took pics from a different seat but captured some of the tinkerbell show which was the finale and really neat!
They had confetti come out from above and the fairys and butterflys on the ICE were soo colorful! Man for a photo for that last part would have been the most perfect!! Its etched in my memory though!
DISNEY ROCKS MAN!
